CES ChatGPT Edu
The Church Educational System (CES) has signed a new enterprise agreement with OpenAI, expanding access to CES ChatGPT Edu for faculty, staff and students across CES institutions. This investment reflects CES’s ongoing commitment to providing secure, enterprise-grade AI tools that support teaching, learning, research, and administrative work.
BYU has sent CES ChatGPT Edu account invitations to faculty, staff, and student employees. The general student population will receive invitations in the next phase. Visit CES ChatGPT Edu for more information and guidance. Contact the BYU OIT Support Desk for technical support.
Conditionally Approved
BYU currently has a CES ChatGPT Edu contract in place. Refer to the table below for more information. Adhere to the ChatGPT Edu data restrictions when interacting with ChatGPT.
Data entered into ChatGPT Edu remains private and is not used to improve OpenAI’s models, specifically under the CES agreement. Users may enter Public, Internal, and Confidential data for institutional purposes but should de-identify sensitive information whenever possible. Restricted Data, HIPAA-Protected Data, and Controlled Unclassified Information are not permitted unless explicitly approved by the institutional AI Committee.
